Kombucha is a mysterious thing that people seem to either love or hate. If you’re in the love camp then you probably notice it get’s to be an expensive habit! My family noticed that when we started buying jars of it every week at the farmers market. We also had to really monitor our pours to make it last through the week and that was no fun. So we started making our own. We lost a couple of SCOBYs in the process (RIP) but we learned from our mistakes! We started with a 1 gallon batch every two weeks but when our SCOBE started duplicating we decided it was time to double production so we now make a gallon every week. The best part is you get to decide your favorite flavor combinations rather than settling for whatever they have at the store.
